Long, Beautiful Words
Freedom's Echo
I hear the bell of Freedom ring
I listen as my memories sing
Of time lost a long time ago
When soldiers fought in icy snow
I saw them as they fell, one by one
Never knowing that victory was won
Oh, they fought at such a cost
For a freedom we have lost
We let the greedy government rule
As we sit by and sadly, longingly mull
The thoughts of the past and better days
Because we think we’ve lost our way
We forget that we have power in our hands
We should not let them take our lands
“We the people!” was our resounding cry
For which hero’s willingly died
Please stop and listen to my young words
Hear me no matter how your pride hurts
We can take back our long lost wish
We will take back the liberty that has gone amiss
Can you not listen and hear Freedom’s echo?
How can you turn your backs and shout “NO.”?
She was God given, and He once blessed America
We must break our horrible and sinful fall/
We were once the land of golden dream.
It was us who offered so much opportunity.
Our history is still within our yearning grasp
Will you take a moment in the past?
"God bless America!: the soldiers cried.
"Yes! Yes! Give me liberty or I die!"
"You cannot rule me without my consent."
"I would willingly lay down my life for my friends."
Would you throw all of their cheers away?
Will you buy into the lie that we're okay?
We are no longer a healthy or free nation.
We've fallen into the bondage of too much sin.
There is still hope! There is still hope, I say!
You're living in a bright and good day.
Use it to take back what is ours, and don't say "no".
